Tetiana Kalenychenko represented the NGO Dialogue in Action at the gathering of representatives and partners of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) network in Nyborg, Denmark. Participants discussed the topics of citizenship, human rights, and the role of the church in public life in an era of uncertainty and militarisation. For “Dialogue in Action”, this meeting marked the beginning of cooperation with the Conference of European Churches network.
In her presentation, Tetiana shared dialogue practices and raised the issue of reconciliation – with oneself, with the community, and with God. She emphasised: "The Church can be a space for discussing issues that are difficult even to think about. If religious communities can become a space for rethinking and acknowledging that they do not have answers to all questions, but are willing to search together – this will manifest their peacemaking ministry and dialogical nature. And if not during a crisis, then when can this be accomplished?"
We thank the Conference of European Churches and the National Council of Churches in Denmark for organising the gathering and for creating a space for dialogue where the Ukrainian experience can also be shared and heard.
