The third module of the certificate program “Psychological Support at the Basis of Spiritual Care” took place on January 27-29 at the Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences in Bucha. Over three days, participants focused on exhaustion and recovery, discussing internal resources and burnout prevention. Special attention was paid to empathy, context- and trauma-sensitive approaches, as well as restorative practices and conflict transformation.

Facilitators from the “Dialogue in Action” team – Tetiana Kalenychenko, Dmytro Fedorchak, Olena Kopina, and Anna Dovbyk – worked with the group. The sessions were packed with practical interaction: participants collaborated in small groups, practiced empathetic listening, explored Circle practices, and reflected through creative exercises. This fostered a space for deeper self-reflection, safe sharing, and gaining new experiences in engaging with others.

The module also featured international peacebuilding experts: Erik Nilsson from SweFOR (Swedish Fellowship of Reconciliation) and Andy Carl, an independent consultant and facilitator, co-founder of International Alert and Conciliation Resources. They observed the group, joined the discussions, and shared their insights. We thank Andy and Erik for their interest in the Ukrainian context and look forward to future collaborations!

We extend our gratitude to the Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences and Liudmyla Shtanko personally for the warm welcome and for providing a space where such meetings can flourish. Special thanks to our partners, Kerk in Actie, for their trust and support!

While the third module has concluded, the journey of learning and collective growth continues – we look forward to the upcoming meetings and new stages of this path.
